This update has a raised lateral outrigger, and it sits higher off the court for a more cushioned fit. The shoe utilizes New Balance`s most propulsive performance foam to date: FuelCell. The 996v5 features a modern transparent ice rubber outsole, which showcases the basketball-inspired "chicken foot" design.
